Setting a Flush Deck-Box and GFCI Pop-Up in a Finished Pinellas Patio
Flush power in a finished patio
A pop-up GFCI or a flush deck-box lets you run string lights, a blender, or a laptop on the patio without a cord across the slider. The box has to sit dead flush with the paver field, drain, and stay out of the walking line. PaverForge Hardscapes sets these after the electrician stubs the conduit, then cuts the field so the lid does not become a trip edge.
Field details that keep the lid honest
A rigid sleeve so the box cannot rack when the bedding sand moves
A small relief drain or weep so the can does not hold irrigation water
Cuts that leave full units at the lid instead of slivers that pop
Isolation from the house slab so stucco settlement does not tilt the box
Do not drop a plastic box into a hole and pack bedding sand around it. The first plate-compactor pass will cock the lid. We set a collar, confirm lid height against a straightedge on the finished course, then sand the joints.
If the patio is already locked, we lift a local panel, add the sleeve, and re-sand only that patch so the rest of the field stays intact. Call PaverForge Hardscapes at 727-490-9798.
