Flush Pool Main-Drain Access Rings in a Paver Deck
Older Pinellas pools sometimes keep a main-drain sump or a hydrostatic relief cover just inside the deck edge. A continuous paver field poured over that cover looks clean for a month and then someone needs the lid. Cutting a random hole later leaves a trip edge and a sand leak.
The ring we leave
We frame the cover with a soldier course or a manufactured flush ring, set to the same elevation as the field, with a joint the pool tech can open. The ring is not bonded to the pool beam. Bedding stops at the frame so sand does not migrate into the sump. Pitch still runs away from the water, and the ring does not become a dam.
If the cover is already buried, we locate it with the pool company before we cut. We do not guess at a main drain. Equipotential bonding and salt-cell gear stay with the pool contractor; we only rebuild the deck around the access they mark.
Book it with the deck, not after
Tell us the cover is there when you send pool-deck photos. PaverForge Hardscapes will mark it on the layout. Call 727-490-9798 or book online. We install and re-level pool decks from St. Pete Beach through Palm Harbor.
