Fountain and Water-Feature Surrounds on Pinellas Patios
Splash is a drainage problem. A fountain dropped on a flat patio stains the field, grows algae on the north side, and soaks the joint against the house. PaverForge Hardscapes builds a surround that treats the feature as wet equipment, not as furniture.
A pad inside the patio
The basin wants its own compacted pad and a pitch that throws splash back into the feature or toward a drain, not toward the slider. We leave a service gap so the pump can come out without lifting half the field. If the feature is going in later, we still sleeve the power and water before the patio is locked.
A dedicated pad, not a decorative ring set on bedding sand
Pitch and a drain plan for splash and overflow
Joints that can dry between storms instead of staying saturated
Sleeves for power and fill lines before final compaction
Salt air and small basins
On St. Pete Beach and the barrier islands we avoid details that trap water against metal hardware. The surround should be serviceable. If a basin cannot be maintained, it should not sit in the middle of a new patio.
Plan the feature with the patio
Call PaverForge Hardscapes at 727-490-9798 or book a walkthrough at https://www.paverforge.com/book-online. Send the basin size and where you want it relative to the house. We will put the pad and the pitch on the same drawing as the rest of the patio.
