Gas-Meter and Regulator Pads Beside a New Pinellas Paver Walk
A new front walk often lands against an existing gas meter. If the pavers lock around the regulator, the utility cannot pull the meter without cutting your field. A small isolated pad with a clean joint is cheaper than a tear-out later.
Clearance and isolation
We leave the clearance the gas company expects around the meter and riser, then set a compact paver or concrete pad that is bonded only to itself. A bond-breaker against the house slab keeps the pad from cracking the stucco when the walk moves.
Pitch and splash
The walk pitches away from the meter so irrigation and roof drip do not sit on the regulator. A narrow soldier band around the pad lets us lift those units if the utility ever relocates the riser.
Coordinate before the field goes down
If you are relocating the meter for a kitchen or generator, do that before we screed bedding sand. A last-day surprise riser in the middle of a herringbone field is a cut-and-patch no one wants on a new walk.
