Hose-Bib and Rain-Chain Splash Basins in Pinellas Paver Walks

Front walks and side yards collect drip from hose bibs, rain chains, and downspout boots. On a sand-set paver field that drip is enough to empty joints and leave a green stripe against the stucco.

A basin that disappears into the pattern

We cut a small recessed basin or a grate-covered catch on the same plane as the pavers, then sleeve the overflow to planting or a dry well. The soldier course continues around the basin so the walk still reads as one field.

Rain-chain landing pads get a slightly rougher texture so the first splash does not sheet onto the stoop. Hose-bib pads are sized for a watering can and a kneeling pad, not a leftover 12-inch square of concrete.

Add it to a rebuild or as a punch-list item

Basins are cheap to include when the walk is already open. They are still worth a half-day visit on an otherwise sound patio. Email PaverForge@gmail.com or call 727-490-9798.
