Irrigation Backflow-Preventer and RPZ Pads in Pinellas Yards
A new paver field is a poor place to bury an irrigation backflow preventer. Pinellas assemblies need testing clearance, a stable pad above splash, and a path the tester can reach without walking across wet joints. PaverForge Hardscapes builds those pads while the driveway or patio goes in so you are not cutting a hole later.
What the pad has to do
The assembly has to stay plumb, drain, and remain visible. We set a small compacted pad, leave manufacturer and utility clearances, and keep the valve out of the tire path. If an RPZ needs a drain line, that pipe is sleeved under the field before bedding sand goes down.
Do not hide the backflow inside a closed seat wall with no access panel.
Keep splash off the house slab and off a pool-deck slider.
Leave a test-cock side that a technician can reach without lifting pavers.
Match the pad color to the field so it does not read as a leftover slab.
Retrofit on an existing driveway
If the preventer already sits in a mud hole beside a settled walk, we lift a local area, compact a pad, and reset the same pavers around it. That is cheaper than a full tear-out and keeps the tester off your planting bed.
