Isolating a Pool-Cover Motor Pedestal from the Surrounding Paver Field
An automatic pool cover needs a motor pedestal. If that pedestal sits in the same bedding sand as the deck, vibration and splash settle a ring of pavers around the box. PaverForge Hardscapes isolates the pedestal.
Separate pad, same finish
We pour or compact a small pad for the motor, sleeve the power and key-switch conduit, and keep an isolation joint between that pad and the paver field. The deck can move a little with heat and rain; the motor should not.
This is different from sleeving the cover track. Track work follows the beam. The motor is a point load with a lid people step next to. Both have to be right or the first season shows a dip.
Service access
We leave enough units around the pedestal that a cover tech can lift them without cutting a new hole. Face-chip extras from the same pallets stay with the owner for that day.
