Isolating Pool Slide and Ladder Footings in a Finished Pinellas Deck
A pool slide or stainless ladder that was set in the original deck will try to move independently from the paver field after a few Pinellas summers. Heat, splash, and a slightly different footing depth open a lip or a dark stain ring where the deck sand washes.
PaverForge Hardscapes isolates those footings with a bond-breaker and a tight soldier ring so the field can be re-leveled later without breaking the slide anchor. We keep the two-percent pitch toward the waterline, hold the bonding lug accessible, and match the coping or bullnose course so the isolation does not read as a patch.
If the slide is coming out or being replaced, we leave a sleeve and a compact pad that the pool contractor can bolt to without cutting a new hole through a sealed deck.
Slide and ladder footing checklist
Equipotential bonding path left intact and accessible
Isolation joint that does not become a trip edge at the waterline
Slip-resistant texture on the landing pavers
Screen-cage post and kick-plate clearance if the slide sits under a cage
