Matching Catch-Basin Frames to a Pinellas Paver Field
A catch basin that sits a half-inch high sheds water around the grate. One that sits low becomes a trip and collects sand. On a Pinellas paver patio or driveway the frame has to finish in the same plane as the field after compaction.
PaverForge Hardscapes sets or resets basin frames when we install or repair the surrounding pavers. The pipe slope, the grate type, and the paver thickness all get checked before the box is locked in.
How we set the elevation
We compact the base around the structure, set the frame to the finished paver elevation, then cut the field to the grate with a consistent joint. Heel-proof slot drains at sliders are a different product; a driveway basin needs a grate that takes a tire.
If an existing basin is tilted or the pavers have settled around it, we lift the nearby units, correct the base, and shim or replace the frame rather than packing sand against a moving box.
Drains that still puddle
Send a photo of the grate after rain and a shot of the low point in the field. We will tell you whether the basin is high, the field is flat, or the pipe is the bottleneck. 727-490-9798.
