Organic Soil and Muck Undercuts Before a Pinellas Paver Base
Pinellas lots hide organic soil under lawns that look fine in February. After a wet June the same yard pumps under a plate compactor. If you compact on top of that and set pavers, the field will dish. PaverForge Hardscapes proof-rolls the subgrade and undercuts organic material before the aggregate base goes in.
What we look for
Dark, fibrous soil that smears instead of packing
A proof-roll that leaves ruts instead of a tight print
Old fill over a buried slough, drain field edge, or tree pit
A water table that shows in the excavation before lunch
The fix is not a thicker sand bed. It is undercut to competent material, geotextile where the soils change, and a graded aggregate base built in lifts. Patio spec on muck is how a new field fails in one summer.
What the quote will say
We cannot price an undercut from a phone photo of the surface. We walk the lot, probe the low spots, and write the undercut as an allowance or a measured extra when the excavation proves it. Call 727-490-9798 or book at https://www.paverforge.com/book-online.
