Outdoor Kitchen Grease-Bin Pads With a Trapped Drain
The grease bin is the part of an outdoor kitchen that gets hosed and then forgotten. On a flat paver field that rinse water carries fat into the joints, the sand locks up dark, and ants follow. A small pad with a trapped drain keeps that mess in one spot.
Pad and drain layout
We cut the pad to the bin footprint plus a standing area, pitch it to a floor drain or a channel at the low side, and trap the line so sewer gas does not come back through the patio. The drain body sits in a concrete collar. Pavers around it are full units where we can, with a solder course that can be lifted if the trap needs service.
The pad stays clear of the grill's heat setback and of the sink air gap. If the kitchen already has a grease trap downstream, we tie the rinse line to that plan instead of inventing a second one.
Add it before the joints are sanded
