Package-Delivery and Porch Pads That Survive Pinellas Weather
Most Pinellas front walks were sized for a person, not a stack of boxes. After a rain the delivery ends up in the mulch, and the bottom step holds water against the door. PaverForge Hardscapes adds a small, pitched porch or package pad that matches the walk and can take a hand truck.
A pad is still a miniature paver job
We do not set a few stones on dirt. The pad gets geotextile where the soil is sand, compacted base, a locked edge, and a pitch away from the threshold. If the house has a wood stoop that is rotting, we talk through a paver landing instead of wrapping more boards around a failed stringer.
Keep the landing below the finished floor so wind-driven rain does not run inside.
Leave hose-bib and electrical-outlet clearance.
Use a slip-resistant texture on north-facing, shaded entries that stay damp.
Tie the pad into the existing walk with a border so it does not look like an afterthought.
Short-term rentals and busy doors
On rental properties the pad also takes coolers and roll-aboards. We size it so two people can pass and a box stack is off the public walk. That small add-on often prevents the muddy path that shows up in guest reviews.
