Playset and Swing-Set Border Pads in Pinellas Backyards
A playset or swing set on Florida lawn sinks on two legs and turns the fall zone into mud. A bordered paver pad gives the posts a level bearing, keeps mulch or turf tiles in a rectangle, and gives the mower a clean edge. It is not a patio with a playset dropped on it. The loads are point loads.
How we build the pad
We set the rectangle past the recommended fall zone, compact a crushed base, and use an 80 mm unit if the set will also take a riding mower or a storage box. Posts sit on the paver, not in a hole cut through the field. That way you can move the set later without a checkerboard of patches. Edge restraint is pinned. A soldier course hides the plastic edge from the yard.
Pitch off the house and off the neighbor fence
Geotextile on sugar sand so the pad does not disappear in year two
No polymeric sand in a zone that will see mulch dyes and constant splash unless we agree on maintenance
Room to walk a mower around all four sides
Send the playset model or a tape of the footprint and two photos of the yard. PaverForge Hardscapes will mark the pad so it does not land on a septic lid or an irrigation main. Call 727-490-9798 or email PaverForge@gmail.com.
