Pool Auto-Cover Housing Recess Pads in Pinellas

An automatic pool cover needs a housing at the end of the deck. If that box is set after the pavers, the lid becomes a trip edge and the track collects polymeric sand. The cleaner detail is a recess built with the deck: the housing lid finishes flush with the field, the mechanism stays serviceable, and the cover track is isolated from the paver courses.

Lid height and a drained vault

We set the recess from the cover manufacturer’s lid dimension, not from a guess at bedding thickness. The vault gets a drain or a sump path so storm water is not standing on the mechanism. Pavers stop at a movement joint around the housing. They do not run under the lid. A contrasting soldier course around the lid makes the edge readable in flat evening light.

Track, salt cell, and cage doors

The cover track stays out of the main walking line where we can, and the leading-edge bar has a clear park position that does not block the cage door. Salt-cell and heater pads stay on their own isolation pads, not inside the cover vault. After the first cure window we recheck lid screws and joint sand so grit is not dropping into the track.

PaverForge Hardscapes builds these recesses with new pool decks and as a cut-in on existing Pinellas paver decks. Call 727-490-9798 or see paverforge.com/services.
