Pool Chemical Fill-Port Grade Rings in Finished Decks

Liquid chlorine and acid fills on a Pinellas pool often land in a small vault at the deck edge. If the lid is a loose paver, it rocks, holds water, and becomes a trip edge next to bare feet.

Ring, pitch, and the splash zone

We cut a grade ring that sits flush with the deck and frames a lid the pool tech can lift. The field around the ring pitches away from the water and away from the house slider. A low spot at the port just feeds the vault.

The ring is isolated from the coping so deck movement does not bind the lid. Bedding sand does not wash into the vault because the joint at the ring is held, not left open.

Chemistry stays with the pool contractor

We set the hardscape. We do not fill tanks or adjust feeders. If the vault is in the walk line, we say so before the pallet is opened and we shift the border so the lid is not the first step out of the water.
