Setting a Pool Ozone and UV Sterilizer Skid Pad Isolated From a Pinellas Cage Footer
Why ozone and UV skids need their own pad
Ozone generators and UV sterilizers sit on a small skid next to the pump and filter. If that skid bears on the screen-cage footer or the paver deck, vibration and a slight lean show up as cracked coping or a pump that walks off level after one season. PaverForge Hardscapes pours or sets a dedicated isolation pad so the equipment stays serviceable and the deck field can move on its own.
How we build the pad
Undercut to stable soil and compact a crushed-concrete base in thin lifts
Keep a bond-breaker gap at the cage footer and at the first paver course
Pitch the pad away from electrical boxes and toward the equipment drain
Leave wrench clearance around unions, sensors, and the UV chamber
On salt systems the pad also has to stay clear of the acid-wash and cell-clean runoff. We do not let that water sit against the cage aluminum. A short channel or a trapped drain off the pad is cheaper than restaining the screen frame next year.
If you are adding ozone or UV during a deck rebuild, tell us before we set the first course. Sleeves and isolation are easy on day one and messy after the polymeric sand is locked. Call 727-490-9798.
