Rebuilding a Driveway Throat After the City Raised the Sidewalk and Apron

Pinellas cities raise sidewalks and aprons after utility work or ADA upgrades. The private paver field stays where it was. The car now scrapes the new lip, and stormwater ponds on the city concrete instead of leaving the lot.

What we do instead of grinding the city slab

We lift the throat, add base where the section is thin, and re-key the private field to the new apron elevation. The soldier course is recut so the joint is tight. Pitch is rebuilt so water leaves the garage and does not sit on the sidewalk. We do not grind a city slab that is not ours.

Photos that help

Shoot the new apron, the scrape mark on the bumper or stone, and any standing water after rain. Call 727-490-9798 or email PaverForge@gmail.com.
