Rebuilding a Paver Field After a City Sewer Cleanout Raise
When a Pinellas utility crew raises a sewer cleanout, the lid often ends up proud of the paver field with a ring of loose sand around it. That lid is a trip edge, a tire thump, and a place for joint sand to walk out. PaverForge Hardscapes rebuilds the field so the cleanout sits flush and the surrounding courses lock.
Grade ring, then the field
We do not grind the lid to hide a bad elevation. We set a grade ring or rebuild the chimney so the cover lands at finished pitch, then we compact the annulus with base, not leftover bedding sand. A fabric wrap keeps fines from pumping next to the pipe.
Courses that were pried up for the raise get cleaned, reset, and blended. If the utility left a concrete doughnut, we saw it back and return the area to the same 60mm or 80mm section as the rest of the drive so the tire path does not have a hard spot.
Keep the cleanout serviceable
The owner still has to open that lid. We leave a soldier or sailor ring that can come up in minutes, and we do not glue the cover into polymeric sand. After the rebuild we resand only the opened area and keep vehicles off until the joints lock.
