Rebuilding a Paver Walk After a New Impact French-Door Sill Raise
Impact French-door replacements in historic and coastal St. Pete often raise the sill. The old paver walk still meets the previous elevation, so you get a trip edge at the threshold or a puddle against the new weather seal.
PaverForge Hardscapes rebuilds the landing and the first run of the walk to the new sill height. The field is isolated from the house slab so the door unit can move independently of the hardscape.
Height, pitch, and the weather seal
We measure the finished sill, the interior floor, and the existing walk before we lift a single unit. The landing gets enough pitch to shed water off the threshold without creating a step that fails a simple foot-traffic check. If the old walk is still sound farther down the run, we transition with a repair band instead of tearing the whole path.
Call 727-490-9798 after the door is set, or before if the carpenter can share the planned sill height. Either way we walk the opening before we quote.
