Paver-to-Wood-Deck Ledger Flashing on Pinellas Lots
Plenty of Pinellas backyards meet a wood deck halfway. The deck ledger is lagged into the band board. The paver patio is supposed to tuck under the last joist. If the field is set tight to the wood, water sits against the house and the first joist rots while the stone still looks new.
PaverForge Hardscapes treats that joint as a flashing problem, not a color problem. Call 727-490-9798.
Gap, pitch, and a serviceable edge
We keep a clean gap at the ledger, pitch the paver field away from the band, and use a pinned edge so the patio can be lifted later without tearing the deck. The flashing stays on the wood. The stone does not become the water table.
What we need on the visit
A photo of the ledger from below and one shot of the patio meeting the last joist. If the deck is coming out later, say so. We will not lock a soldier course to a rim joist that is already on the demo list.
