Setting a Retractable-Awning Wall-Plate Isolation Pad Against Pinellas Stucco
Retractable awnings dump a drip line onto the first course of a patio and concentrate fastener load at the stucco. If that course is sand-set with the rest of the field, the drip line opens joints and the wall plate starts to look like it is pulling the pavers off the house.
What we build under the plate
PaverForge Hardscapes sets a narrow isolation landing under the drip line: compacted base, a bond-breaker at the slab or footer, and a pitch that throws water to the field or a slot drain instead of back to the stucco weeps. The landing can be the same unit as the patio so it disappears in the pattern.
If the awning installer still needs a hidden conduit for lights or a wind sensor, we sleeve it before the joints are sanded.
Coordinate before the patio is closed
The cheap time to do this is during a new patio or a re-level, not after the awning crew has already lagged into finished work. Call 727-490-9798 and we will add the landing to the patio scope.
