Scotland Street Dunedin Paver Walks
Front walks and short drives on Scotland Street in Dunedin, where oak roots heave thin concrete and the city sidewalk still has to meet the new field flush.
What Scotland Street lots actually need
Scotland Street sits on the downtown Dunedin grid, a short walk from Edgewater Drive and the marina side of town. Lots are narrow, oaks lean over the parkway, and many walks are still the original thin concrete.
Roots lift a panel, summer rain ponds at the step, and the sidewalk joint opens. A paver walk only holds if the failed concrete comes out, the root zone gets a root barrier where the arborist allows it, and the base is rebuilt before the first course goes down.
How we set the field
We saw-cut a clean line at sound concrete, excavate the sugar sand, and place compacted base in lifts. Bedding sand stays a consistent thickness so the field does not rock after the first wet season.
The city sidewalk stays. The new walk meets it flush, with a soldier course at the apron and a slight pitch away from the stoop. Irrigation heads and hose bibs get flush collars so a mower does not catch a rim.
Call PaverForge Hardscapes at 727-490-9798 or use the book-online page. Send photos of the apron, the sidewalk joint, and any low spot. We typically reply the same business day and walk the lot before we lock a number. The shop is in St. Pete Beach, and the same crew covers Dunedin, Clearwater, Largo, Seminole, and St. Petersburg.
