Setting a Flush Garden-Hose Reel Box in a Finished Pinellas Walk

A hose that lives on the walk is a trip and a stain. PaverForge Hardscapes sets a flush hose-reel box in a finished Pinellas walk or patio so the lid sits in the same plane as the pavers.

Frame before the field

On a new walk we set the box on a compacted pad and wrap it with a rigid frame so bedding sand cannot slump into the vault. On an existing walk we lift a rectangle of pavers, compact a pad, and reset units tight to the lid with a consistent joint.

The supply line is sleeved, not buried bare in bedding sand. A future leak then becomes a lift-and-reset instead of a trench through the whole walk.

Lid height and drainage

The lid is set a hair below adjacent pavers so a chair leg does not catch it, and the field still pitches off the house. We do not dump the box in a low spot that holds rinse water.
