Setting a Flush Lightning Ground Plate in a Pinellas Paver Field
Lightning-protection contractors drive ground rods and bury plates at the corners of a Pinellas house. When that hardware lands in a finished driveway or patio, a proud well lid or a soft halo around the plate becomes a trip edge and a place for joint sand to wash. PaverForge Hardscapes sets the plate or inspection well on compacted base, builds a grade ring from cut pavers, and pitches the field so water does not pond on the lid.
How we keep the lid flush
Confirm the lightning contractor's final rod depth before we lock the field
Compact a local pad so the well does not settle after the first storm
Cut a soldier or sailor ring so replacement units stay available
Keep copper and bonds clear of irrigation and pool-equip bonding unless the electrician directs it
We do not move or splice lightning conductors. We build the hardscape around the finished ground so the inspection well opens and the paver field stays even. That is the same detail we use for well heads, irrigation master valves, and transformer grade rings.
If a plate was already buried under a patio and the lid now sits a half-inch low, we lift the local field, add base, and reset. Serving Pinellas County from St. Pete Beach. Call 727-490-9798.
