Setting a Lake Irrigation Pump Skid Pad Beside a Pinellas Paver Patio
Canal and lake lots in Pinellas often irrigate from the water behind the house. The pump skid ends up on the patio because that is the only flat spot. A pump bolted through pavers walks the field apart, and the splash stains joints and feeds the pool deck.
Isolate the skid
The skid sits on its own pad, on compacted base, with a gap or isolation joint between the pad and the walking field. Vibration stays in the pad. Pavers are not the anchor for the pump frame. We leave service clearance so a tech can pull the pump without tearing the patio.
Intake and discharge lines that cross the field go through sleeves, not through a joint that will be sanded shut. We do not plumb the pump. If the intake is a permitted canal connection, that work stays with the contractor who holds that scope.
Splash and stain
A pump that weeps should not sheet across a pool deck. The pad is pitched to a trapped drain or a planted edge, not toward the slider. Reclaimed or lake water stains pavers. We keep the overspray off the field and off the screen enclosure.
