Setting a Propane-Exchange Cage Pad in a Pinellas Side Yard
Grill and fire-table bottles in Pinellas often live in a locked exchange cage on the side of the house. Set that cage on soil and the legs punch through after one rainy season; set it on the main walk and every bottle roll chips the nosing. PaverForge Hardscapes builds a small dedicated pad, pitched away from the wall, with enough room to stand a cage and swap bottles without walking on planting beds.
Clearance and drainage we build in
Pad set off the stucco so weep screed and paint stay dry
Non-combustible paver surface under the cage footprint
Edge restraint so a dolly wheel does not collapse the last course
Short connector walk from the driveway so bottles are not carried across wet turf
This is a different detail from a buried propane-tank pad. Exchange cages are above grade, visited weekly in season, and they collect rain on the roof of the cage. We keep the field dense-graded and the joints tight so the pad does not become a mosquito tray.
If you already have a grill-island grease drip or a fire-feature shutoff box, we can place the cage pad on the same utility run. Serving St. Pete Beach and Pinellas County. Call 727-490-9798.
