Setting a Spa Control-Pack Isolation Pad Off a Pinellas Cage
The spa pack does not belong on the cage floor
A spa control pack — heater, pump, and board in one enclosure — dumps heat and condensate. On a Pinellas screen-cage floor that pack often sits on two leftover pavers or on the footer. The field around it stains. Units crack when someone pries the enclosure for a board swap. The next tech cuts a bigger hole in your deck.
PaverForge Hardscapes sets a dedicated isolation pad beside the cage so the pack can come off and go back on without opening the walking surface.
Pad requirements
Footprint larger than the enclosure so unions and unions-plus-unions have wrench room.
Pitch away from the cage door so drip does not run under the kick plate.
Isolation from the cage footer and from the spa-side deck field.
Clearance for intake air if the pack is a combined heater unit.
Install sequence
We measure the pack and the plumber’s union layout before we cut. Base is compacted. The pad is pinned. We leave a clean soldier edge so the pack does not walk off the units. If the old location was in the field, we close that opening with matching units and a mid-field band so the patch does not read as a scar.
This is the same logic as a pool-heater pad or a salt-cell pad: equipment on its own plane, deck on its own plane.
