Setting a Whole-House Filtration Skid Isolation Pad in a Pinellas Side Yard
Well homes and municipal homes across Pinellas are adding whole-house filtration skids — sediment, carbon, and sometimes UV — in the side yard beside the hose bib. Those skids are not light. They get serviced twice a year. If they sit on soil or on a walk that was never built as a pad, the first media change racks the manifold and the drain line starts to puddle across the path. PaverForge Hardscapes sets a dedicated skid pad.
What the pad has to do
Hold the skid dead level so unions do not weep.
Leave wrench room around every canister and the UV sleeve.
Carry a trapped drain or a pitched drip edge so backwash does not sheet onto the walk.
Stay isolated from the house slab and from any paver walk that will be re-leveled later.
Side-yard realities
Most Pinellas side yards are a tight alley between the AC pad and the fence. We size the pad to the skid plus a service aisle, not to the leftover dirt. Sleeves go in for the inlet, outlet, and drain before the field goes down. If a water-softener brine tank already has its own pad, the filtration skid gets a second pad — two pieces of equipment, two pads, one clean aisle.
Book the pad before the plumber sets the skid
The cheapest sequence is pad first, plumbing second. Send the skid spec sheet and a side-yard photo. Call 727-490-9798 or schedule at paverforge.com/book-online.
