Setting an Irrigation Booster-Pump Pad in a Pinellas Side Yard
North-county and barrier-island systems often need a booster pump when municipal pressure will not push a full zone. That pump does not belong on a couple of leftover pavers dropped in the lawn. Vibration walks units, drip stains the walk, and a tech cannot service a unit sitting in mud.
Pad details that last
We set a small isolated pad with a compacted crushed-concrete base, pinned edge, and a pitch to a splash or dry well so drip does not sit under the pump housing. Isolation from the house slab and any nearby walk keeps vibration from opening a joint at the side door.
Conduit and union clearance stay on the pad, not buried under sod that will be edged to death. If a rain sensor or fertigation tank shares the corner, each piece gets its own landing so a future swap does not wreck the first pad.
HOA and noise
Some Pinellas HOAs want the pump screened. We can add a low paver knee wall or leave sleeve locations for a vinyl screen without trapping heat against the motor.
