Setting Flush Pool Auto-Fill Solenoid Access Boxes in a Finished Deck
Automatic pool fills hide a solenoid and a small valve under the deck. When that solenoid fails, a deck that was laid tight over the valve becomes a two-day tear-out for a twenty-minute parts swap. The fix is a flush access box set when the field goes down, or cut in later with a clean collar.
How we set the box
The box sits on its own compacted seat, flush with the finished paver, with a lid that matches the field color as close as a polymer lid allows. We sleeve the supply and the overflow so the next plumber is not cutting a live line under bedding sand. Pitch around the lid throws deck water past the box instead of into it.
Lid flush with the field so it is not a trip edge at the sun shelf
Room inside the box to swap the solenoid without lifting neighbors
Bonding and equipotential details left intact around the cut

If your Pinellas deck already hides an auto-fill with no lid, we can saw a clean collar and rebuild a small isolated ring instead of opening half the shallow-end field. PaverForge Hardscapes handles that cut with wet-saw dust control and a same-day resand of the opened joints.
