Setting Pool-Slide and Diving-Board Footings Through a Finished Pinellas Deck
A pool slide or diving board needs a footing that goes through the deck to bearing soil or to the structure the pool builder specified. If that footing is poured monolithic with the paver bed, the deck heaves and the feature cracks the beam. PaverForge Hardscapes sleeves the footing, isolates it from the field, and leaves the deck free to pitch to the gutter.
Sequence with the pool builder
We coordinate the sleeve before the deck is closed. The footing stays independent of the compacted base. A bond-breaker at the beam keeps the paver field from tying into the shell. Equipotential bonding lugs stay accessible in a flush box instead of buried under the first course.
What fails when this is skipped
Lippage at the slide ladder, a rocking diving-board pedestal, and a cracked waterline tile after one summer of expansion. We cut a clean collar around the pedestal, match thickness at the transition, and keep joint sand out of the manufacturer hardware. If the feature is added to an existing deck, we lift a work panel instead of saw-cutting a ragged hole.
