Setting Removable Pool-Fence Sleeves Through a Finished Deck
A removable mesh pool fence only works if the sleeves are plumb, drain, and sit flush with the finished deck. Proud sleeves trip. Buried sleeves fill with sand and the next installer cannot find them. PaverForge Hardscapes sets the sockets while the field is open so the fence company is not core-drilling a brand-new patio.
Layout before the bedding
We mark the code line with the fence contractor or off the pool-permit plan — typically the required setback from water, gates at the house path, and posts that miss skimmer lids and cleaning ports. Sleeves are set in a small concrete or mortar pocket under the bedding, not friction-fit in sand that will walk.
Each socket drains. Standing water in an aluminum sleeve stains the adjoining pavers and seizes the next post. Caps finish flush so a bare foot does not find the hole when the fence is down for a party.
Do not after-market it if you can avoid it
Core-drilling a sealed field to add a fence later blows dust into joints and almost always chips a face. If you know a removable fence is coming, say so on the first site walk. We will leave the sleeves and a marked as-built.
