Sod-to-Paver Edge Settlement on Pinellas Driveways

The field can look perfect on day one and still fail at the grass line. On Pinellas lots the restraint is only as good as the soil collar behind it. Loose backfill settles after the first two-inch rain and the sod edge becomes a trench that feeds fines into the joints.

PaverForge Hardscapes treats that collar as part of the hardscape, not as leftover landscaping. We compact a soil or screenings wedge against the restraint, pin corners, and set the first sod or mulch course so runoff does not mine the joint sand.

What we check on a sinking edge

  • Whether the restraint itself moved or only the soil dropped

  • Whether irrigation spray is cutting a channel at the soldier course

  • Whether the field pitch dumps water into the grass instead of a drain

  • Whether a full re-sand is needed after the collar is rebuilt

If the stones are still tight, we rebuild the edge without tearing out the drive. Call 727-490-9798 with a photo of the grass line and the nearest downspout.
