Spa Cover-Lifter Hinge Plates Through Paver Decks

A spa cover lifter looks simple until the hinge plate is bolted to three pavers and nothing under them. The first fold twists the field, joints open, and the plate rocks. On Pinellas decks we isolate that hardware from the walking surface.

What the plate needs under it

We cut a small recess, set a concrete or compacted-base pad sized to the lifter manufacturer's footprint, and bring pavers back around it with a joint that can be lifted later. The plate bears on the pad, not on the bedding sand. Anchor bolts stay clear of the edge restraint and of any pool-deck bonding conductor.

If the cover folds across a soldier border, we keep that border full-units so the hinge side does not become a trip lip. A photo of the spa model and the cover lifter spec is enough to size the pad before we are on site.
