Swale Grading and Lot Drainage After a Pinellas Paver Install
A paver driveway can be pitched correctly and still pond if the yard around it is wrong. In Pinellas the public swale, the neighbor's berm, and a downspout that used to sheet onto grass all dump water back onto a new field.
PaverForge Hardscapes treats swale grading as part of the hardscape closeout, not as a landscaper's problem for next month.
What we check before we leave
The field pitches to a known outlet: street, inlet, or a swale that actually falls.
Sod or soil at the edge is not higher than the pavers, which would trap irrigation.
Downspouts have a path that does not cross the patio as a river.
The city or county swale in the right-of-way still functions after the apron is set.
If the lot needs a catch basin or a short drain line, that goes in the quote before we dig. Adding it after the field is locked costs more and looks like an afterthought.
