Utility Lids and Sewer Cleanouts in Pinellas Paver Fields
Almost every Pinellas driveway hides a sewer cleanout, a water meter, or an irrigation stop. Burying the lid under a full paver and hoping nobody notices is how you get a jackhammer through a new field two years later. We build lids that sit flush and can come out without wrecking the pattern.
What a lid has to do
The frame has to rest on compacted base, not on bedding sand that will wash. The lid has to take a tire without rocking. The surrounding courses have to be cut tight enough that the joint does not become a weed trench.
Adjustable frames so the lid matches finished paver height.
Pavers cut to the frame, not a blob of concrete around a plastic cap.
Cleanouts left findable for the plumber — we mark them on the as-built notes.
No polymeric sand packed into a lid that has to lift.
Repairing a sunken lid
If an existing field already has a crater around the cleanout, we lift the local courses, rebuild the base under the frame, and reset. That is cheaper than a full tear-out when the rest of the driveway is still sound.
