Setting a Water-Feature Pump Vault Beside a Pinellas Patio
Stop hiding the pump under a paver
Pinellas patios pick up fountains, urns, and small ponds after the hardscape is finished. The pump then gets dropped in a hole and covered with a loose paver. That paver rocks, the cord gets pinched, and the next service call tears a square out of the field. PaverForge Hardscapes sets a water-feature pump vault beside the patio with a lid that matches the field and a base that stays dry enough to pull the pump.
Vault, lid, and isolation
The vault sits on its own compacted pad, isolated from the patio so vibration does not telegraph into the seating field. We sleeve the supply and return, leave a drip loop on the cord, and pitch the lid so rain does not pond on the cover. The lid is a cut paver or a grate rated for a foot, not a vehicle. Bonding and GFCI stay with the electrician; we leave the sleeve and the landing.
Salt air, leaves, and winter shutdown
Oak leaves and ficus berries will fill an open pit in a week. A vault with a removable basket is faster to winterize than a buried bucket. On beach-side lots we keep metal hardware off the splash and use a polymer box where the manufacturer allows it. If you already have a rocking cover in the patio, we can cut a clean vault in without rebuilding the whole field. Call PaverForge Hardscapes at 727-490-9798.
